Recorded in high definition format before a live audience at the WHUT studios in Washington, DC, this program is hosted by Kelvin Boston of public television’s Moneywise series, and Vickie Winans. The program features entertainment from Freddie Jackson, Kim Coles and Reheem DeVaughn along with home preservation and mortgage scam advice from Shelia Bair, Chairman of the FDIC, Marc H. The Moneywise New Homeowner’s Empowerment Special: Dare To Own is part two of a two part motivational special designed to help Americans adversely impacted by the mortgage crisis. Hosted by Kelvin Boston of public television’s Moneywise series, this special provides information on finding a mortgage, purchasing affordable homes and resources to help revitalize communities. The program features home buying advice from the National Community Stabilization Trust, National Council of La Raza, National Credit Counselors of America, and Neighbor Works America. Using entertainment as the medium to deliver useful information, the special also features co-host comedian Kim Coles and musical performances by national recording artists K’Jon, Raheem DeVaughn, Maysa, Freddie Jackson and Vickie Winans.
